Added 4 Consolations for Blog Candy Giveaway Participants

Just a little post before the announcement tonight (British Summer Time) for the winner to my very 1st blog candy giveaway.

Since there can only be one winner for the giveaway and the giveaway has been created in conjunction with the Royal Wedding, I have decided to throw in 4 postcards of the Royal Wedding / Engagement of  Prince William & Kate - one postcard to each of the four other lucky persons to be picked by the Inlinkz system.

So tonight, if you are not the one lucky winner of the giveaway, you may still be the other four lucky winners to receive a consolation, a Royal Wedding souvenir postcard with British stamp & to be delivered from UK. ^_^

No direct email or message will be sent to the winner(s), so you will have to check the blog for announcement.

BEST OF LUCK, EVERYONE!!!

P/S : The winner(s) have to redeem the giveaway/gift by 7th June 2011. If the giveaway/gift still uncollected,  new winner(s) will be drawn via Inlinkz system.

Patience My Beloved

To my beloved followers and giveaway participants,

I hope you are as eager as I am as we count down towards the announcement day for my blog candy giveaway's lucky winner.

As some of you may already know or even experienced that Blogger or rather Google has been misbehaving malfunctioning for the past one month. I have my share of difficulties logging into my own account, following blogs, checking on the giveaway's new participants, commenting using my own Google ID and etc.

Therefore in hindsight, please note that I may not be able to do the announcement immediately although the giveaway will be closed to new entries from the stated time and date. While there is a possibility of delay, the announcement will however be made within the first week of June. Your patience is much appreciated.

I hope this update has not hampered your excitement. It's just next week! Remember to watch this space.

Best of luck, everyone! ^_^

Pay It Forward

(Preference : Participants to be crafters due to nature of project.)

If you read my previous blog post, you would know that I have been in a good mood. The good vibes has caused me to be chirpy and nice to several people today. I think it's infectious and it'd probably have led on to a good chain reaction. While I thought of all that, I recalled about the movie 'Pay It Forward'. It's about the idea of blessing someone with a random act of kindness without expecting anything in return. It was touching with a bitter sweet ending... got me tearing a little.

It was really spooky quaint that while I was with that thought, I found Alison's blog post about 'Pay It Forward' (from Stretch N' Bubbles2). Just short of some goose bumps for how coincidental that I stumbled upon this 'Pay It Forward' which resonated with my thought at the very same moment. Amazing!

So, I am blessed enough to be joining this 'project', a continuation from Alison's. Below is the 'oath' you must take to joining this project :

"I promise to send an original creation to the 1st 5 people who leave a comment here. They must, in turn, post this, and send something they make to the 1st 5 people who comment on their status."

Here's what you need to do:
1. Leave a comment on this post. I will send a handmade gift to the first 5 commenters.
2. Create a post on your blog offering the same.
3. Send a handmade item to your first 5 commenters.
4. It must be sent to your 5 people sometime in 2011.
Please do not sign up unless you are fully committed to making your 5 items!

To my dear followers (or even non followers), I would highly recommend that you join not just for the free gift but to commit to paying it forward. The chain of unconditional kindness must go on! ^_^

P/S : I will deliver worldwide. I ask that the candidates interested to join only if you are willing to do the same.

Won A Challenge!

I was shocked and could not believe my eyes when I saw my card being reposted at DYSU for winning their last week's card challenge #18.

Keep Calm & Smell Lavender ;)

My excitement was suppressed when Blogger's unscheduled maintenance took more than 24hours to fix some problems. I so wanted to immediately comment on DYSU's post of announcement for the winners and collect my DYSU Winner Badge.

'Wearing' it proudly on my right 'pocket' now ;)

I also wanted to blog about this win right away but duh, Blogger was down for maintenance... so no blogging could be done at all. I believe other blogs/companies might face more serious issue than mine.

But oh well, in spite of those hindrances I am still happy about the news ;) This is my first time winning a challenge since January this year when I began to blog more consistently and making cards at least once a week. I was not even aware of what I won as I did not expect to be lucky enough to be randomly picked! My initial objectives of joining challenges were to have myself inspired and motivated by challenge themes to continuously make cards. Not only cards were made but encouraging comments were given to me by DT members that came to my blog to assess my card designs. To me, it's also one of the ways to maintain the flow of people visiting the blog.

The prize I won was sponsored by Copic Marker Scrapbooking. For winner within America, they arranged for 6 Copic Ciao Markers while the rest of the world, a Martha Stewart Puncher. So I guess I will get a new MS punch... my first MS punch ever!

On top of winning this challenge, the new phone I ordered two days ago have just reached me within the same day. Double booyah!~ It's the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc - super sleek and light! I am taking some own sweet time getting use to it and setting up the apps. This is life. ^_^

My Gratitude Phrase

Just to record the gratitude I feel towards my parents here. Moved to tears. Wanna remember this moment.

Sometimes, my parents
would just do something touching
and unknowingly raised the bar
of the kind of parent I would wanna be
when my time comes.

Spotty Dotty

This is one of those days I try to make simple cards but ended up taking equally same amount of time to decide what materials to be used ;)

Pattern papers adorned with a button, two gems and a lil' of glossy accent.

Sharing this with folks at :

Keep Calm & Smell Lavender!

It has been a while since I made a card. Been busy other stuff...

Here's a card I made with another House Mouse stamp which I used for the first time.

Using the Pink Distress Ink for the first time. Also using the 'Candi' dots for the first time. I used the white dots and coloured them with Promarker in the shade I want. Oh, another 'first time' with the this effect of splitting the picture into segments ;)

Mice climbing among lavenders, isn't that just cute or what?

Stamps: Image (House Mouse Summer Chill Out), Sentiment (May Hughes)
Paper: Scallop White Card, White Card stock
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Pink (Distress)
Promarkers : Saffron, Raw Sienna, Amethyst, Fuchsia, Leaf Green, Blender
Embellishment: Candi Dots, Ribbon, Glitter Glue, Glossy Accent
Tools: Corner Punch (Siesta)
